Chrissie Schubert’s Homemade Treats is located in Andalusia, Alabama and offers
a variety of gourmet treats including cookies, brownies and loaves of homemade yeast
bread. With the encouragement of her mother, Chrissie Schubert Duffy decided to
start her cookie business in 2004. After years of baking alongside the well-known
“Sister Schubert”, Chrissie felt like she had the right knowledge and recipes to
try her hand in the family tradition of commercial baking. Chrissie, with three
small children at home, decided to start off simple with a small retail outlet in
downtown Andalusia. With the help of husband, Kevin, and cooperation from the babies,
(Thomas – 3yrs., Anna Landry – 2yrs., and Mary Margaret – 1yr.) Chrissie featured
9 delicious gourmet cookies and brownies and served a light lunch from her small
storefront. In a few short months, Chrissie’s cookie company gained the attention
of Southern Living Magazine which featured “Alabama’s Best Cookies and More” in
the April 2006 issue. Soon after, another article was published in Wiregrass Living
and the buzz spread around the Southeast.
Chrissie knows the timing is right to launch her vision of a commercial cookie company
and share her gourmet treats with all of her mother’s favorite customers around
the country. Chrissie also enjoys applying her artistic talents to her custom designed
delicious sugar cookies using royal icing, edible glitter, luster dust, sparkling
sugars, and whatever else comes to mind. Among Chrissie’s other gourmet treats are
Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip, Oatmeal White
Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Macademia Nut, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Pecan, Toffee
Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Buttons, Double Chocolate Brownies, Crème
de Menthe Brownies, and that delicious home baked bread in small and large loaves.
